Shimshak will give I-G more time as leader


During a special meeting of the board on Monday February 16, 2026, Michael Shimshak accepted an offer from the Iowa-Grant School District Board of Education to stay on one more year in his role as superintendent. 

With the assistance of the board’s legal counsel, the board’s search for a new superintendent had attracted a field of ten candidates, four of whom were invited for first-round interviews earlier this month. The field of finalists was then narrowed to three....
