Vikings pull away to beat Highland in baseball match up
Pecatonica outlasted Highland 7-2 in a Six Rivers baseball game Thursday.
The Vikings pounded out nine hits and scored two runs in the third, fourth and sixth along with a single run in the fifth.
Austin Enloe, Reid Schlimgen and Luke Leonard with Schlimgen and Leonard both knocking out doubles did most of the damage.
Marty Anderson also doubled for the Vikings. Cooper Schaefer and Kashton Gross both had hits for the Vikings.
Enloe turned in six frames on the mount. He gave up four hits, two runs (both earned) and struck out 10 with three walks.
Schlimgen finished with a strikeout and a hit.
Two Cardinals did all the hitting for Highland. Kaden Washa was 3x4 with a double and Jack Tarrell had a pair of singles in three trips. Tarrell and Koyer Zadrazil both drove in a run.
The duo also split the mound duties with Tarrell working four frames. He gave up all seven runs, five earned with three strikeouts and a walk.
Washa worked two scoreless innings with three strikeouts and a walk.
The Cardinals scored solo runs in the first and third.
