Lemanski, John “Jack” M.

COBB – John “Jack” M. Lemanski, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 13, 2025, at Mineral Point Health Services. He was born on November 20, 1939; the son of Clyde and Mary (Winters) Lemanski.

John graduated from Montfort Senior High in 1958 and shortly after, enlisted with the United States Army. He served four years as a mechanic, including time stationed in the Philippines. He married the love of his life, Cheryl Lyght, on September 18, 1965, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Montfort. Together they built a life rooted in love and hard work.

Upon returning home from service, John began his lifelong passion of farming. He was a proud dairy farmer and poured his heart into the land and animals that he cared for each day. After trying many breeds, John found his favorite in the Jersey cow. He had a deep love for animals, especially horses, and a tender place in his heart for any animal that needed a little extra care. John loved reading, especially Louis L'Amour books, enjoyed mastering puzzles, playing Euchre, and listening to classic country music.

John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Cheryl; four children: Brian (Michelle) Lemanski, Kerry (John) Stoppleworth, Rhonica (Terry) Klicko, and Tracey (Travis) Imel; seven grandchildren: Makayna, Miah, and Kage Lemanski, Camden (Jessica) and Colten Stoppleworth, and Tia and Broc Imel; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Kathryn (Walter) Dresen and Darleen (Gordon) Novinska.

Honoring John’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday May 23, 2025, at the Soman-Larson Funeral Home in Montfort. Burial will take place at later date in the Ebenezer Cemetery.  For online condolences, please visit: www.larsonfuenralhomes.com
