Public Wind Turbine Hearing in Linden

Dear Editor,

Public Wind Turbine Hearing in Linden, Wisconsin, June 23, 2025, at 2 and 6 p.m.

One of the largest onshore industrial wind turbines ever installed in the United States is a 653-foot monster that is located south of Amarillo, Texas, in a low-residential density, very flat, semi-arid region. This turbine is being used for advanced research by West Texas A&M University at the UL Advanced Wind Turbine Test Facility.

Unbelievably, Invenergy, a foreign corporation, is asking the Wisconsin Public Service Commission (WPSC) for permission to install about 20 wind turbines, essentially the same size—650 feet—as the research wind turbine. This Badger Hollow Wind project will include 17 wind turbines, which will be within a mile and a half radius of the Iowa-Grant School. Children, our most physically and neurologically vulnerable population, will be subjected to the hazardous effects of these turbines. This must not happen!

Invenergy and the WPSC have essentially no skill, experience, or knowledge about the problems and concerns with installing wind turbines of this size. In other words, they have no idea what they are doing. Our Driftless area will become an industrial wind turbine research-testing site. We will be experimental guinea pigs, our homes and farms an industrial sacrifice zone.

Wind turbines have been subsidized with our tax dollars for over 20 years, and it is still a failed technology. It is time to put an end to this “unrenewable” scam. Wind turbines are harmful to our health, pollute our environment, and are the main reason our electric rates have skyrocketed.

If you are as mad as hell about this as I am, you can have your say. There will be a public hearing in Linden, Wisconsin, on June 23, 2025, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the Linden Community Center 460 Main Street. You and your neighbors will have a chance to tell the public service commission how you feel. Weather permitting, a 6-foot balloon will be launched 650 feet into the air to give a perspective on the height of these monstrosities.

You can make a difference and help stop this pointless ruination of our homeland here in the land of pleasant living. For more information, contact No-Uplands.com.
