I-G board starts search for new administrator
After 46 years with a career in education Michael Shimshak is retiring.
Twenty one of those years has been as a school administrator. Shimshak has been the superintendent at Iowa-Grant since 2021. His time in education has taken him all over the world.
Shimshak will serve out the year with his last day June 30, 2026. He said he and his wife plan to do some traveling.
Shimshak notified the board of his decision November 28 with the following letter.
“Dear Members of the Iowa-Grant Board of Education,
After 46 years in public education, I intend to retire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year....
