Massey, Amy C.



Amy C. Massey, age 95 of Dodgeville, formerly of Hollandale, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of August 7, 2025, at Upland Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Amy was born on February 24, 1930, in Dodgeville, the daughter of Howard and Goldie (Colden) Thompson. She married Neal Massey of Hollandale on November 5, 1950. The couple farmed on the Massey Farm until 1985. Amy also worked for Dr. Marshall for 20 years and retired from Memorial Hospital of Iowa County after 15 years in the Medical Records Department. Amy enjoyed spending time with her family—especially attending her grandchildren's school events—and reading. She was very proud to be a member of the area Ramblewood Rings Bell Choir.

 Amy was preceded in death by her husband, Neal; her sons, Tom and Vernon; and her brother, Homer (Mary) Thompson; her parents; her in-laws, Wendell and Sarah; sister-in-law, Roberta (Donald) Fulmer.

 Amy is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Randall and husband Ron Distler of Scales Mound, Il; grandchildren: Bethany Randall, Jacob Randall, Mallory (Mark) Hermanson, and Wyatt (fiancée Mary Prunty) Massey; step-grandchildren: Nicholas Distler, Nathan (Danielle) Distler, and Melissa (Chris) Wachter; three great-grandchildren, Lyla Randall, Arlo Hermanson, and Howard Hermanson; many step-greatgrandchildren; nephew, Brian (Lisa) Thompson; niece, Christine Thompson; and many other relatives and friends.

In keeping with Amy's wishes, there will be no formal services held. She will be at laid to with the rest of her family at Middlebury Cemetery in a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Middlebury Cemetery Fund or the Shriners Children's Hospital—Chicago are greatly appreciated.

 The family would like to give a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab Center and to the Upland Hills Hospice Team for the support, friendship, and compassionate care they gave to Amy and her family.
