Trudy Juliana Broek of Ridgeway, went by two names which continually confused friends and customers. But she always gave her best to her many projects! Trudy was born in 1938 in Berkeley California. When she was 8 years old she left with her family to live in the Netherlands for 2 years, while her Dutch father helped rebuild that war torn country. They returned in 1948 to Minneapolis where Trudy found that she couldn't speak English! But she discovered hot dogs. Baseball? What's that? She thought she would never fit in, but she did! With enthusiasm she finished four years of college, majoring in sculpture, design and painting. She married her love, Garry Williams, moved to Madison and had two sweet children, Peter Williams and Jeanne (Williams) Louther.
Trudy changed her name to Juliana, and became a registered Interior Designer. She loved her Akita dogs and beautiful horses, rode in parades, put on horse shows, sold one farm, bought another and built her timber frame home near Ridgeway where she had wonderful neighbors. Juliana developed her career at Ethan Allen and Woodworks and made many exciting trips to Indonesia and India.
She thanks her companion of over 30 years, John Deuser, for making her life such fun. They often traveled the trails on ATVs or went deer hunting together. After John's passing, she was blessed with the companionship of Dan Wallace, who gave her final months some much-needed sweetness. She lived her dream.
Juliana died January 30th, 2026. She is survived by her son Peter Williams and her daughter Jeanne (Williams) Louther, grandchildren Willow Williams, Sage Williams and Toby Louther, as well as her brother Jan Broek.
There will be a celebration of life to be shared later. Please contact the family at juliana.broek13026@gmail.com for details.
