Vikings put holes in the Cheese for 26-6 win
Mount Horeb/Barneveld did both the big and little things right Friday and ran past the Monroe Cheesemakers 26-6.
The airways were ruled by D1 QB Brooks Hendrickson who went 14 or 20 for 147 yards and a touchdown. Hendrickson hooked up with sophomore Django Christian who was a top receiver with three grabs for 59 yards.
Also getting into the receiving act was Hayden Anderson who caught five for 33 yards, Colin Haag who grabbed three for 32, Cullen Olson with two catches for 16 and Parker Nihles who Hendrickson hit once for 16.
On the ground, Jack Wilson rushed for 194 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.
Eli Meier scored twice and carried four times for 19 yards. Hendrickson gained eight on seven tries. He also had a two point conversion.
Wilson led the D with eight tackles. Nihles was close behind with seven with Maier and Henry DeRosier but getting 6.5 stops.
The Vikings had 222 yards on the ground and 147 passing.
Next up for the Vikings (1-1) is a trip to Beaver Dam Friday in Badger Small/East Central non-conference match up.
