Sharon Louise (Cutler) Ortiz Phillips Williams, age 88, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Sharon was born on October 26, 1937, to Lavern Stanley and Alice (Richardson) Cutler. She was raised on the Cutler family farm in Iowa County, land that later became part of Governor Dodge State Park.
She married Robert Edward Ortiz on July 6, 1955, and together they raised five children. Their marriage was cut short when Robert passed away in 1979. Sharon later married George William Phillips on June 13, 1981; he preceded her in death in 2006. On April 21, 2019, she married Don Williams, and they shared several years of companionship.
Sharon’s greatest joy was her family. She played a significant role in raising her grandson, Robert “Little Bobby,” caring for him from infancy until her health no longer allowed. She was known for her patience, generosity, and her deep love for both people and animals. Sharon also enjoyed hunting and fishing in her younger years and remained an avid sports fan throughout her life, following everything from local girls’ high school basketball to her beloved Green Bay Packers. Sharon was also well known for her famous chocolate sheet cake, a dessert her family adored and one that will be lovingly remembered at every gathering.
She is survived by her children: Lavern William (Jen Magby) Ortiz, Elizabeth Vanita (Jeffrey) Bennett, Brenda Lee (Keith) Keuter, and Barbara Lynn (Duane) Butteris; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; her brother Stanley LeRoy (Lynda Ann Dickey) Cutler; her sister-in-law Marilyn Lea (Riley) Cutler; her husband Don Williams; and her stepchildren Donnie, Scott (Shelly), Michelle (Demetrius), Karl, Marck (Kristan), and Elaine (David).
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert Ortiz; her second husband, George Phillips; her daughter, Bobbie J. (Ortiz) Woodruff; her brother, Gerry Ray Cutler; her sister, Janet Alice Cutler; and other loved ones.
Private Family Sunrise Services were held at Graceland Cemetery. Pastor Lorri McGranahan officiated.
