Heuer, Bernard O.

Bernard O. Heuer, age 98 of Dodgeville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 21, 2025. He was born on June 5, 1927, in Cobb, WI to Clarence and Amy (Butteris) Heuer. He graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1946. After high school, Bernard worked on the family farm with his parents and brother Laverne. Around 1980, he began working for the City of Dodgeville in the Eastside Cemetery, keeping the grounds up and digging graves by hand. In 2001, he was awarded the Older Worker of the Year by the city. In 2010, he retired from the city after 30 years.

 Bernard enjoyed going for drives and taking walks around the neighborhood when he was able. He welcomed the chance to visit with former classmates at class reunions when they occurred, and he was the last surviving member of his class.

Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, brother Laverne (Mary), and many uncles and aunts.

Bernard is survived by his nieces Cheryl (Jim Buol) Heuer and Cathy Heuer, nephews, and other family members.

Bernard will be laid to rest by his parents at Eastside Cemetery, Dodgeville in a private service. A family gathering will be held at a late date. The Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.houckfuneralhomes.com
