Mary Frances Harms, 94, of Muscoda died on November 25th peacefully at home surrounded by the many things she loved. She was born at home in Bellmorel township on April 17, 1930, to Anton and Helen (Shedivy) Ruzicka. Her parents moved to Castle Rock township in Muscoda when she was little. There Mary went to school at Blue River School. On October 5, 1949, Mary was united in marriage to Marvin Harms. They moved to Stoughton in 1951 and raised three children: Bruce (Pam) Harms of Ashland, MO, Ross (Shirley) Harms of Rio Communities, NM, and Sandra (Joseph) Schmelzer of Highland, WI.
Mary worked at Madison General Hospital in Madison for 10 years. She then worked in Stoughton for a dental office until she retired. After retirement, Mary and Marvin moved back to Muscoda in 1986 and built a house on Mary's home farm. She loved collecting chickens and working in her many flower beds. Mary enjoyed gardening, canning, and hunting.
Mary was a member of the Highland Historical Society and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She loved her flowers and chickens.
Mary is survived by her children, and a daughter: Linda (Creighton) Cox of Embarrass, MN; Step grandchildren: Jamie Locast, Ann (Tim) Galinsky; step great grandchildren: Jake and Alison Galinsky, Ava Locast; special nieces: Pat Peterson, Sandra Foley, Karen Radke; special friends: Donnie Wolf, David Drews Family; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Anton and Helen, husband Marvin, granddaughter Rachael Harms, sisters: Lottie (Leroy) Lettman, Shirley (Elbert) Rucker, brother-in-law Melvin Foley, and special friend Cory Gray.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Pratt Funeral Home, Muscoda with Deacon Larry Schmitt to officiate. A rosary will be prayed at 10:45 a.m. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
