Suzanne "Sue" Ellen Gevelinger, age 67, of Mineral Point, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Upland Hills Hospital, surrounded by those she loved and who loved her. She was born in Northfield, Minnesota on January 6, 1956, the daughter of Darryl Wheeler and Delores (Wheeler) Weinbrenner. She moved to Mineral Point in 6th grade and graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1974. Yes, we know, The Class of '74. She loved being a cheerleader for Mineral Point and UW-Platteville and spent the rest of her life cheering for the Pointers. Go Big Blue! She earned her bachelor's degree in education and later, her Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. On November 11, 1978 she married the love of her life, Joe Gevelinger at the Hope Lutheran Church in Mineral Point. They were blessed with three children; Jodi, Lindsey & Jon. She "had" many more "kids," as she taught for over 30 years in the Mineral Point Elementary School. She loved everything about Mineral Point; the history, Homecoming, the parades and especially the people! Go Big Blue! Sue loved a good game; cards, bowling, trivia, board games, game shows, guessing games, Pointer games, game day at Camp Randall, and Packer games. She loved spending time with friends and family, her Coffee Girls, Christmas, 4th of July, traveling and was always up for an adventure; big or small.

She is survived by her devoted husband Joe Gevelinger and their children; Jodi (Jason) McGraw of Mineral Point, Lindsey (Rob) Bruce of Mason City, Illinois, and Jon (Taylor) Gevelinger of Bulverde, Texas. "GaGa" was blessed with four grandchildren: Tatum and Tylie Bruce and Grayson and Carter Gevelinger. She is further survived by her siblings; Bill (Marie) Wheeler of Mt. Horeb, Tom Wheeler of Florida, Jodie (Bob) May of Mineral Point, Kevin Wheeler of Texas, Sam (Chausti) Weinbrenner of Mineral Point and three step-brothers; Loren Weinbrenner of California, Tom Weinbrenner of India, and Paul (Thuyle) Weinbrenner of Oregon. She is also survived by the Gevelinger family; Tom (Vickie), Paul (Mary Jo), Jim (Terry), JoAnn (Jerry) Rowe, Rob (Denise), Jean (Bob) Willer, Steve (Rita), and Lori (Greg) Ewers. "Aunt Sue" is survived and loved by many, many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Joseph and mother-in-law Rose Mary Gevelinger, step-father Elwyn Weinbrenner and step-mother Patricia Wheeler.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church in Mineral Point. Pastor Kate Kieckhafer will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Gorgen Funeral Home in Mineral Point and on Thursday from 10:00 until 10:50 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial to the Mineral Point Rescue Squad or the Mineral Point Fire Department.
