Glass, Barbara B.

Barbara B. Glass, age 92 of Spring Green, WI passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 at The Meadows in Spring Green. She was born on October 10, 1930, the daughter of Roland and Maude (Killam) Becker. Barbara will be remembered for her charm and good nature in the face of obstacles. She found spirituality in nature.

In later life her passion was preserving and restoring the land in Wisconsin to prairie, as it was before the European settlers. She raised and sold native prairie plants through her nursery business “Little Valley Farm”. Together with her husband Brad, she was instrumental in creating the Driftless Land Conservancy. Barbara and Brad served on the boards of several local organizations including the Kiwanis, and the Wisconsin River Board working to enrich life in Iowa and Sauk counties, Wisconsin. Barbara grew up in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. She graduated with a B.A. in psychology from the University of Wisconsin in 1952 and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Barbara married Bradley Glass in 1953, and they raised three children in Northfield, Illinois. In 1985 She and Brad moved back to Wisconsin. 

She is survived by her three sons; Charlie, David, and George, grandchildren; Kyle, Phillip, and Kimberly, one great-grandchild; Dean, three adopted grandchildren; El King, Princess, and Queenie and one adopted great-grandchild; Athena. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Maude Becker, her husband, Bradley Glass, and her sister, Joan Roberts. 

A celebration of her life gathering will be held at 5640 State Highway 23, Spring Green, WI, 53588, on August 5, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
