Kathy M. Thomas, age 71, of Lancaster, formerly of Linden, passed away unexpectedly at St. Mary's Hospital, due to surgical complications on Saturday, February 4, 2023. Kathy was born on January 16, 1952 in Dodgeville to Russell and Eileen (Reeves) Thomas. She grew up in Blanchardville, Hollandale and Linden. She earned an Accounting Degree from SWTC. She worked at the Cobb Canning Company, was the Linden Village Clerk for a number of years and finally worked at Lands' End for 30 years before retiring at age 66. Kathy's life revolved around her family, whether she was making them quilts, crafts or knitting them something special. Her grandkids were everything to her. She also enjoyed watching movies, especially Comedies. She conquered many fears to travel to Colorado to visit her son, Pat.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marcia Hildreth.

Kathy is survived by two children, Patrick (Margi) Beecher of Ridgway, CO and Brenda (Cory) Helbing of Lancaster, WI; six grandchildren, Brittney Helbing (fiancé, Justice Blackhawk); Sean Miller; Brandon (Tracy) Mobley; Joshua (Carly) Allen; Justin Allen (fiancée, Maddie Decker) and Austin Helbing; three great-grandchildren, Lawrence, Lucy, and Hazel; six siblings, Denny (Shirley) Thomas of Midland, TX; Jim (Alana) Wardell of Linden; Jeff Wardell of Belmont; Pam Wardell of Dodgeville; Jeannie (Roger) Austin of Rewey and Doug Wardell of Browntown as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville. Pastor Mary Ann Floerke will officiate with burial in the Linden Cemetery.
