Cecil W. Borcherding, age 87, of Dodgeville passed away peacefully on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Agrace HospiceCare with family by his side. Cecil was born in Iowa County near Belmont to Agnes (Bockhop) and William Borcherding. He has two brothers, Ivan and Jim. He graduated from Livingston High School in 1954. Cecil married Patrica Burns on December 17, 1960. The couple farmed together for 12 years. Cecil also worked at the Dane County Hospital for the first 12 years of their marriage and ended his career with 25 years at Lands' End in Facility Services before retiring. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dodgeville. Cecil enjoyed milking cows, bowling and card club, as well as snowmobiling club. His greatest joy was spending time traveling and time with his kids and grandkids. He was hard working, caring and kind-hearted with a great sense of humor and could make anybody laugh. He could bring a smile on the toughest days to anyone.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patrica; a son-in-law, Korbin Berg; his parents and many aunts and uncles.

Cecil is survived by his four children, Dawn (Tim) Goplin of Mt. Horeb; Douglas Borcherding of Mineral Point; Dana (Tom) Palzkill of Seattle, WA and Diane Berg of Mt. Horeb; six grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Roskopf; Megan (Garret) DeChaine; Matthew (Lilli) Palzkill; Sarah Palzkill; Elisabeth Berg and Erik Berg; five great grandchildren, Oskar and Leo DeChaine; Adilyn and Julia Roskopf and Evelyn Palzkill; his brothers, Ivan (Lulabelle) Borcherding and James (Luanne) Borcherding; a brother-in-law, Neil (Marsha) Burns as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.

An intimate graveside celebration will be held at East Side Cemetery.
