Delores E. Ruppert, age 91, of Dodgeville, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 after a brief stay at Upland Hills Nursing & Rehab Center in Dodgeville. She suffered a long battle with dementia.

Delores was an only child born on May 11, 1931, the daughter of Frank and Alice (Larson) Jirak. Her dad married Christine Gosche when her mom Alice passed away when Delores was six. She graduated from Livingston High School in 1949.

Delores married Ernest W. Ruppert on October 23, 1954. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Ernest and Delores farmed all their life in Dodgeville and raised six children. Delores loved the farm life. She enjoyed driving tractor, loved all her farm animals especially her pet lamb, Buncy. She raised chickens and delivered her eggs to many customers who eventually became life long friends. She was a big gardener and canner and was a terrific cook.

Delores is survived by her children Norma (Galen) Baker of Oregon, WI, Marilyn (John) Blabaum, Ken (Karin Condon) Ruppert, Jean (Scott) Halvorson, Philip Ruppert, all of Dodgeville and Annette Maybaum of Ocala, FL; 11 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step mother, her husband Ernest and her son-in-law Rusty Maybaum, her brothers and sister in law Donovan and Catherine Kopp, Gilbert and Anna Mae Steffes and John Ruppert.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. Fr. Bill Van Wagner will officiate. Burial will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass on Tuesday at the church.
