Is it time?

she has given to the trade she is without equal. It is absolutely fitting that she
was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille award at the Golden Globes.
I do have trouble, though, with her comments while accepting which had
nothing or very little to do with the industry and everything to do with calling
out President-elect Donald Trump.
While I respect her right to free speech I am not sure that was the time to
make her comments. I do not believe people tuned into the awards to see it
turn political.
When President-elect Trump responded with a cruel sounding tweet which
seems to be his chosen method of "reaching" the people the whole thing
turned ugly. My feeling is that if he does not support her political views it
should be just that and an attack on her acting was uncalled for.
It reminds me of a middle school fight in the schoolyard and we all know
those go absolutely nowhere.
Here is an idea.
Use your free speech to say what you want but do it as an individual and
not as a member of a group.
And, use your free speech of making a reply to address the issue and not
the person.
It is time to realize the President has been elected for at least four years.
By constantly attacking the person it takes away from the office.
Am I a great admirer of Donald Trump?
Not yet and I might never be.
But I will give him the benefit of the doubt until he is sworn into the office
and I get to see what he does for my country.
This might be a very good time to get on with it.
