Eagles pull the sweep at Shullsburg/Benton
The Eagles used the broom to sweep the Miners in a Six Rivers doubleheader. Scores were 6-5 in nine innings and 1-0.
Nate Franque was 2x4 in the 6-5 win with pitching duties falling to Cole Breuer, Colton Sullivan and Wes Williams.
Breuer worked five innings, gave up six hits, three earned runs, fanned eight and walked one.
Sullivan went three innings, gave up three hits, a run along with five strikeouts and a walk.
Williams closed and struck out the side.
The Eagles scored the winning run in the top of the ninth.
Sophomore Trey Laube was 2x3 in the 1-0 win.
Williams went six innings before he had to leave with his total completed. The hard thrower fanned 10, walked three and gave up one hit.
Breuer closed and got the win. He gave up a hit while fanning three and walking two.
