Seems as though the leader of our country, Barack Obama, feels newspapers are all but dead.
He sees newsgathering to be the job of the internet rather than print. He feels newspapers have outlived their usefulness.
I think I should send the President of the United States a complimentary subscription. Then he could read about the heroin problem that is entrenching itself in our nation.
He could read about the struggles our educational system faces as it tries to provide quality learning for students while stretching the dollar to the max.
He could read about what people think about aging and the suttle taking away benefits.
He could read about the good things people do for each other.
He could read about the academic and athletic accomplishments of our youth.
In short he could get a week by week description of what it is like to live in this area and why we made the choice to do so.
Hopefully then he would see why newspapers are a valuable tool for our society.
Maybe other publishers should consider sending a subscription too.
