Ferrell, Aric Jay

Aric Jay Ferrell, age 33, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away suddenly of an illness at his home on February 1, 2012. He was born December 18, 1978 in the Aleutian Islands, Adak, Alaska to Richard M. and Julie (Sutherland) Ferrell. Aric's Ferrell family roots are in Mineral Point and Iowa County. He graduated from Fox High School Arnold, Mo in 1997. Aric continued his education graduating from Jefferson College and later, Webster University in 2011 with a BS degree in Interactive Digital Media. Aric was a talented and gifted young man who devoted his life to his education. He was an avid and excellent player of board games throughout his life. He thoroughly enjoyed anime, computers and fantasy role playing. He was a founding member of www.animeradius.com, a website devoted to the anime and fantasy culture and its enthusiasts. A February 2012 website quote described him: "Aric constantly amazed Animeradius members and fans with his knowledge and dedication to the art form. He often said his dream job would be that of an anime expert or guru. Aric was that and much more, he was devoted to his family and friends. Aric was one of the most level headed humans I have had the honor to know."
The family is hosting a gathering for all friends and relatives in celebration of the life of Aric Ferrell on April 28 from 12:30-3:00 p.m. in the log Row House at 212 Spruce Street within the Pendarvis State Historical Site complex in Mineral Point. Site fees will not be collected. This location was significant in Aric's family history. It is a few feet from his 4X great-grandfather Day's cobbler shop and the homes of several of his ancestors who lived on Spruce Street. At 3:30 p.m. a memorial tree planting is scheduled on the Ferrell family farm in Mineral Point Township on Pleasant View Road 1/2 mile north of Rock Branch Road.
