Area hit by rash of weekend fires
A house in Dodgeville was detroyed Sunday night causing local fire departments to battle freezing temperatues as well as a fire that turned the home into a total loss.
The fire started about 10 p.m. Sunday at the house on the corner of Center and Union streets in Dodgevile. Besides the Dodgeville Fire Department mutual aid was provided by the departments from Ridgeway, Mineral Point, and Cobb-Eden. Dodgeville EMS was also on the scene.
Angie Pagni and her son, Damon, were not at home at the time of the fire. Power in the house went out earlier that evening and with temperatures plunging to -10 she and her son went to another residence to stay for the night. After she got her son in bed she began getting calls that her home was on fire.
The fire destroyed the home and personal belongings were unsalvagable.
