Bonin arrested for burglary
to downtown business
Dodgeville Police Chief David Bauer reported that on Tuesday, July 11 at approximately 7:00 a.m., a complaint was received by the Dodgeville Police Department regarding a burglary to a business in the downtown area. The department would receive reports that four other businesses were also entered or that entry was attempted through force.
An investigation was initiated by department staff. A suspect was identified and the stolen money/property was recovered at approximately noon on that date.
Dylan T. Bonin, 18, was arrested and tentatively charged with two counts of burglary, three counts of attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools, bail jumping and underage drinking.
All charges have been forwarded to the Iowa County District Attorney's Office for prosecution. The case remains under investigation and additional charges may result.
The results of this investigation are a direct result of the efforts of the police department members and an aware citizen who stepped up and provided information. We cannot stress enough, the importance of coming forward. And if you see something, say something.
